Dreams having something to do with Russian Royalty.

The cool thing about summer semesters at Northeastern University is no Friday classes.  So I slept in today, kinda.

I had a dream this morning.  I think I’ve had it before but this time is ended differently.  I’m not sure if I made it end because something changed or if I scared myself awake but that can be debated after the summary.

Somewhere close to home there was a gathering of the world’s leaders.  The King and Queen of Germany were two people in attendence at this event.  I was assigned to be their protector.  At dinner, the King was devouring his meal and the Queen was telling him to slow down and relax.  After telling him many times, she gets irritated and walks off.  Since I am their protector, I go after her, leaving the King in the capable hands of the other agents. (I don’t know what exactly we were but agents sounded about right)

I follow the Queen into some sort of garden where I watch another man kidnapping her.  I take off after them and after running through the streets, I find the car he is using and stop it. (There are some details in here that I forget)  Once the car is disabled, I open the rear door and take the Queen into my arms.  She is unconscious and he yells into a radio/phone that I have the Queen.  Soon after that, I hear sirens.  I call one of my fellow agents and he reports that they are coming for me because the man said I kidnapped the Queen.  I leave the Queen, knowing she will be safe once the authorities arrive and begin to runI begin going over plans with the agent on the phone with me, thinking of places to hide out but he askes me, “Why are you running?  You can definitely take them.”

I reply, “I know I can take the cops but

I can’t fight the man with the gun.”  I woke up as I said that sentence out loud.  It creeped me out a little.  Enough so I didn’t go back to sleep afterwards, I got up and made breakfast.

So the question is, was I dreaming a good movie or am I afraid of something small?  One man compared to a bunch of police and special agents seems like a small thing to be worried about but who knows.

First class of Summer I

To start, Northeastern University is odd.  We take a standard of five (5) years to graduate and after the first year (or so) we begin switching between six months of classes (a semester and a half) and six months of coop.  Coop is the greatest thing ever.  Classes are the antithesis of that.

Today was the first day of my first Summer semester at Northeastern.  My first class was more interesting than I expected but still starts at 800 and requires me to wake up at 630.

On the lighter side of things, my professor looks and acts like Nathan Lane in The Producers.  He does not sound like him though, I’m disappointed.  There are also two girls (and possibly a third) who have their hair and makeup done similarly and were pretty much wearing the same clothes.  I died a little inside.  Finally, there is one girl who reminds me of Meredith from The Office.  I would have laughed when I noticed but she looked like she didn’t need someone laughing at her.

On the flipside of things, my mom wanted to take pictures of me this morning.  Did anyone else have embarrasing pictures taken every first day of school from kindergarten through Jr. High?  One of these days I will find them all and make a collage or something entertaining like that.  Maybe I should start taking pictures of my mom on her first day of school?  Nah… that means I would have to get up early.

Final thoughts, campus is pretty dead in the summer and I am going to start eating lunch on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Maybe.  I’ll see how my next class goes.
